Ian Riddle - Accompanist

Ian Riddle was born and educated in Stoke on Trent. He studied music at Huddersfield University and went on to gain a postgraduate certificate in Education at Bretton Hall College. He has held many teaching posts in schools, colleges and universities including Denstone college, Manchester Metropolitan University andKeele University.

As a distinguished accompanist Ian has worked with many opera companies, choirs and soloists both locally and nationally. These include Yorkshire Opera, Chesterfield Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Leek Choral Society, The Barbara Walton Singers and Rhos Orpheus Male Voice Choir. In 1990 he took part in a concert tour of North Carolina, USA with the Huddersfield Methodist Choir.

For many years he has been the accompanist to the Ceramic City Choir and the Audley Male voice Choir. He also acts as Official Accompanist at music festivals including Newcastle-under-Lyme and Biddulph. Ian’s qualifications include Fellowship Diplomas from Trinity College of Music, the London College of Music and the Royal College of Organists.
