Join the Ceramic City Choir

We rehearse Tuesdays during term time under the leadership of our Conductor and Director of Music, Anthony Rose, and with our Accompanist, Ian Riddle. Anthony and Ian together make the rehearsals enjoyable. The choral music we sing is sometimes challenging, but with their help we have been able to learn these pieces and then to perform to a high standard.

Singers of all voice parts are welcome to join the Ceramic City Choir at any time, and are encouraged to attend a few ‘no obligation’ rehearsals before deciding if you would like to audition to join the choir.

You will always receive a warm welcome and choir members will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings at Holy Trinity Community Centre, London Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, ST5 1LQ.

After attending a few rehearsals, if you wish to join the choir, you will undertake a short, friendly audition with our conductor Anthony Rose, comprising some scales/arpeggios to establish your range, pitching/aural exercises (such as singing the middle note of a chord), some sight-singing and a short prepared piece of your choice.

Social

Although members take their commitment to rehearsals and to performing concerts seriously, there is a lot of fun to be had by belonging to the Ceramic City Choir. Lasting friendships are frequently made, and all members have the opportunity to take part in the many social activities on offer.
