A message from our President
Tim Wedgwood : CCC President
I've really enjoyed getting to know the Ceramic City Choir over a number of years and being a very small part of their story so far. The choir has such a rich history in the place we call home and to share my family name as its newly appointed President is a real honour.
Please do take a moment to the read the 'About' section of this web page where I'm sure you will appreciate just how far the choir has come since it began in 1942.
I'd like to take a moment to thank my predecessor, Angela, for the unwavering support and encouragement of the choir over many years and I will do my very best to continue in the same spirit.
The story of its success? Well, like everything, it's down to the people and that includes the members, on and off stage, as well as the very enthusiastic audiences - that's YOU! To see so many supporters of the Ceramic City Choir, along with our friends from the North Staffordshire Symphony Orchestra, at the most recent concert, 'Trial by Jury and other favourites', was an absolute delight.
I was sworn in on the following Tuesday, a very wet and windy night, at the practice rooms in Newcastle. The weather aside, the warm welcome that awaited me was very special indeed. In fact, I'd been there just a matter of minutes and was asked by both the alto AND soprano members if I'd like to sing in their section!
And that is my invitation to you. If you'd like to be part of this very special group of people, not just to sing but to socialise and be part of creating beautiful music in the local area, why not consider coming along to find out more. I can't promise it won't be wet and windy but we're friendly and welcoming, and determined to put a smile on the faces of our wonderful audiences.
Head to the 'Contact us' section and be part of our story. Or come and say hello at our next concert. It will be a pleasure to meet you.
Tim
